Christmas Party - my contribution

Christmas Party - the result!

This was easy, tasty, and different from most of what was on offer!

My friend Kyle, the Martha of Mendon, NY, suggested this. I was clever enough to buy the red lumpfish roe - though I think he had told me to do that.

A dozen or so teeeny red potatoes, boiled, cooled (almost all the way down), and sliced. Top each potato with sour cream or mascarpone cheese (I went with mascarpone). Then top each with caviar. Garnish the potatoes and plate with chives.

Yum!

Very, very impressive. I've had this once and it was delicious. I'm most impressed with the hammered aluminum tray. I have a collection of this stuff, rescuing them from the local Goodwill store.

In the accompanying photograph on Flickr I notice that you have Purgatory and potatoes on the table. Quite an interesting vignette.

.....The hammered aluminum tray is an heirloom - my mother says my great grandmother Crawfored (mama's daddy's mama) made it. Evidently when she was older she became very crafty! --MCT

You make my mouth water. What a clever choice. Unique as well as color coordinated for the Christmas holiday. I applaud your tray of appetizing appetizers.
