Our President - can we hope he'll change?
Because he sure seems set on offending his prestigious foreign hosts.
That may have something to do with Obama's uncharacteristic shunning of the press. Whereas other prize winners have viewed the standard Nobel Peace Prize CNN interview as an opportunity to address the world for a full hour, Obama seems unwilling to answer any questions at all. There will be no press conference, just a statement from the president."It's very strange that he is unwilling to meet the press," said Marie Simonsen, political editor at Dagbladet, one of Norway's biggest daily newspapers. "I'm very disappointed. You get the impression he is not proud of the prize."
And if you stomp on Scandinavian feelings what will you do with folks who don't already love you?

What he should do instead of an acceptance speech, is decline the award until such time, that he actually does something to earn it!

No, on some level he realizes that he hasn't EARNED it. It's embarassing in light of the impressive list of people who were nominated. It's ridiculous to award the Peace Prize for rhetoric.
