Climate Junket Culture

Ms Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. "We haven't got enough limos in the country to fulfil the demand," she says. "We're having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden."

And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? "Five," says Ms Jorgensen. "The government has some alternative fuel cars but the rest will be petrol or diesel. We don't have any hybrids in Denmark, unfortunately, due to the extreme taxes on those cars. It makes no sense at all, but it's very Danish."

Go read about the number of private jets flying in.

Since you're a medievalist, you can talk knowledgeably about the medieval warm period and the little ice age that followed it. I know that the "scientists" will say it's all anecdotal, but right now I would trust that more than what they've been feeding us. What do you say? Maybe you've already done this and I missed it. If so, give me a link.

.....What I know about medieval climate is all very impressionistic - I've read bunches of annals in which there are weather phenomena mentioned, but I've never tried to make a spreadsheet. --MCT
