Greenest City in Germany?
One of my commenters told me early in my stay that he had heard Freiburg was so Green it didn't have McDonalds. It has TWO! One in the train station and one built into the most conspicuous of the surviving city gates - the Martinstor. And a Subway just before it for good measure.
