Bird Flu - the Last Next Black Death?

Remember Bird Flu? I went to the doctor's the other day for a minor complaint and they didn't even think to ask if I'd had my flu shot. Here's a BBC online piece on the threat. And scientists wonder why those of us with attention spans don't always take them very seriously about falling skies . . . yes, one can say that the procedures being followed have reduced the threat, but one might also wonder if the rhetorical strategy of Chicken Littledom was really the best way to go about things.
