Ah, Summer
Well, I'm thawed - the last few weeks of Upstate New York are working out of my system, and we're headed to West Tennessee today for a wedding (yay, cousin Mamie!). Barbecue (Unlce Jimmy's version of the family sauce). Tinklers abounding. Pretty much everyone will be there but my sister and her family, because of their blessed event scheduled to happen . . . to happen . . . . Cate? We have our cell phones turned on!
Of course, we were thinking of leaving at 9 and at 9 my mother starts watering impatiens. My family. I love 'em.

I emailed you, but might have gotten the address wrong. Been wanting to thank you very much for your kind words. And to say that if you're going to be home in Upstate NY this August, I'll be there (near Cobleskil) for part of the month too, and maybe we can meet up.

Today would have been my mother's 86th birthday. Remembering, remembering...my father and I would pace impatiently, all dressed and ready to go to something, while my mother was just getting into her bath. [singing] "It was procrastination, I know...."
